Planning for a Future Beyond 1.5°C
Monday, 15 January, 2024, 12:00-14:00 CET
The World Meteorological Organisation estimates that there is a 66 % chance of global temperatures breaching the crucial 1.5°C threshold for at least a year, potentially as early as 2026. Working with business and legislators at COP28, NatureFinance highlighted the need to double down on minimising the rise in global temperatures, and simultaneously initiate unconventional measures to unlock radical innovation in the face of a world beyond 1.5°C.
Are existing business models, investment portfolios, and policies resilient in a post-1.5°C world? Where are the greatest points of vulnerability, and what are the barriers to radical change? How can actions and solutions developed for a post -1.5°C world prioritize and promote equity?
