Healing the Planet through Regenerative Food Systems

The global food system is at a critical crossroads. Agriculture contributes over one-third of global greenhouse gas emissions, drives biodiversity loss, and is increasingly vulnerable to climate extremes—placing immense pressure on the world’s 500 million smallholder farmers.

At the same time, regenerative food systems are emerging as one of the most scalable solutions for climate mitigation and adaptation, ecosystem restoration, and resilient livelihoods.

This closed-door, high-level dialogue will explore how regenerative food systems can be scaled inclusively, affordably, and at speed, drawing lessons from Andhra Pradesh’s globally recognized Community-managed Natural Farming (APCNF) programme—with its 1.8 million farmers it is the largest natural farming transitions in the world.

Co-hosted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and the Global Alliance for a Sustainable Planet, the session will convene senior leaders from government, policy, finance, science, and civil society to discuss pathways for replicating large-scale, farmer-led transitions globally
