Measuring What Matters: How Shared Standards Drive Sustainable Healthcare

Tuesday 20 January 2026 13:00-14:15 CET

BOARDROOM

The healthcare sector generates around 5% of global greenhouse gas emissions. To decarbonise at scale, the sector needs consistent, comparable data on the environmental impact of the products it uses. For the first time, PAS 2090 gives the sector a shared standard to measure the footprint of medicines across their full lifecycle. This session explores how shared, credible environmental data can enable better decision-making so that sustainability and innovation advance together. It examines how common standards can act as a catalyst for data-driven innovation and system transformation across the healthcare sector and beyond.

The session is designed as an interactive discussion, with active participation from attendees and structured opportunities to share perspectives and learnings across organisations and sectors.

An invitation-only group of leaders from health systems, industry, policy, procurement, and sustainability. This ensures candid discussion, targeted impact and balanced representation across stakeholder groups.

Moderated by: Fiona Adshead, Chair, Sustainable Healthcare Coalition

with:

Barend van Bergen, Chief Sustainability Officer, Roche; Sandrine Bouttier-Stref, Group Head of Corporate Social Responsibility, ESG, Sustainability, Sanofi and Judith Wallenstein, Managing Director & Senior Partner, BCG

By invitation only.
