Why healthcare must lead in climate mitigation

Human health and environmental health go hand in hand. They are inextricably linked.  The healthcare sector is experiencing the impacts of climate change firsthand, treating the people who are impacted. By setting climate (net zero) ambitions and developing and delivering on climate mitigation plans, the healthcare industry can become part of the solution.

This panel aims to shed light on the pressing need for climate centric healthcare models and the decarbonization of healthcare, towards realizing resilient and sustainable care delivery for all. In particular we look to unpack:

• Understanding the trifecta of better healthcare, better environmental performance and better economic opportunity
• Challenges in developing, deploying and commercializing sustainable (circular) healthcare technologies and innovation– incl financing sustainable healthcare.
• Role of government in shaping favorable policy and regulatory framework to scale and shape economies built on sustainable healthcare incl. role of green procurement.
